By a test on UC Browser for BB, I found that it succeed all the good features from the traditional UC Browser version, such as the fast speed, traffic saving, powerful downloading function, and all the user experience oriented features. Let’s take a deeper look at it.
UC Browser has an obvious advantage over Opera Mini it can save your 85% of the traffic charge by the cutting edge compression technology.
UC Browser supports the multi-tread download to get over the limit from operators. Moreover, the pause/resume function can make you don’t lose the downloading when the network is not good.

UC Mobile Ltd is on the verge of releasing their first version of the UC Browser for BlackBerrys. You can grab a copy of the release candidate at uctest.ucweb.com:9415/test/. The download page uses WML so you need to use your BlackBerry browser or another WML capable browser like Opera desktop or Opera Mini to be able to view it. There are separate download files for Blackberry OS 4.2+, 4.5+ and touchscreen OS 4.7+ BlackBerrys.
I don’t have a BlackBerry anymore so I can’t test the new release but according to the company, the UC Browser for Blackberry has the following advantages:
Faster – the UC Browser is a proxy based browser like Opera Mini and Bolt. Pages are pre-rendered and compressed and images are resized on the server before they are sent to the phone. This makes all proxy browsers much faster than tradional direct browsers especially on slow connections. According to the table from UC (below) their new BlackBerry browser is even faster than Opera Mini.

Anyway, what exactly does the new UC Browser 8.1 for BlackBerry have to offer? First of all it comes in a smaller package, which makes the installation process faster.
There’s also a new function called Share Images and Links on Facebook. As the name suggests, this options allows users to share images and links on Facebook.
With the newly built-in UC Associated Program, users will be able to open the links in SMS, MMS, WAP push and built-in browser, for a smoother browsing experience.
The Webpage Embedded Keyboard has been added as well, which allows users to input text in webpages directly, thus simplifying the steps.
UC Browser 8.1 Beta enables users to adjust the font size thanks to the newly added Font Size Settings. The function to adjust the font size is added. Previous versions of the browsers only allowed users to choose from free font sizes: Big, Medium and Small.
Last but not least, there are new shortcuts added, which will allow users to get into the action much faster. As always, UC Web asks users to offer their feedback on the company’s forum if they find any bug or problem.

The biggest issue with UC Browser is that pages are optimized by the developer's servers, in a similar way to Opera Mini/Mobile. However, many pages do not render very well when compared to Safari, and many sites seem not to recognize UC Browser as a mobile app, so you end up with a mangled version of the desktop website you were looking for. Another issue is that UC Browser suffers from censorship, meaning some sites are simply not available in it
If you're looking for an alternative to Safari on iOS, Opera Mini or Skyfire are much better and more user friendly options if you live outside China.
UC Browser is an app that is really only suitable for usage within China, as its web page rendering and limitations mean it compares badly to Safari and others.
